The Bow Valley Kayak Club was formed in the fall of 2004. The objectives of the club are:
- To promote the sport of kayaking and canoeing to all residents of the Bow Valley.
- To encourage youth participation in the sport.
- To offer training in safe and skillful paddling.
- To offer high-quality paddlesport events of all types to AWA members and the general public which will introduce many new paddlers to the sport each year.
